At Elbak we have been producing fruit for the global market since 1972. We monitor and control the entire production process – from the seed to the perfectly preserved fruit.
With regular checks by independent testing institutes, we ensure that the quality of our products and production processes not only meet the required certification standards, but also meet the high standards we set ourselves. This means that consumers worldwide can have every confidence in the premium quality and flavour of our products.
IFS Food 6.1
Our customers value and can be assured of our exceptional product quality. The independent organisation GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) conducts unannounced audits and, by awarding us the IFS FOOD 6.1 certificate, providing accreditation of the standards by which we achieve this product quality. The following areas were audited: Corporate responsibility, systems for quality and food safety management, resource management, manufacturing processes, measurements, analyses, improvements, food defence (protection of the food chain against terrorist acts).
ELBAK has been certified by EUROCERT to the Zero Waste to Landfill standard (ZWTL-EU1). The certification confirms that the company diverts its waste completely away from landfill and instead applies the waste hierarchy: reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and energy recovery.
As part of the certification, a diversion rate of 99.21% was achieved. It is made up of:
Energy recovery: 82.12%
Recycling: 2.91%
Reuse: 14.17%
The certification was awarded in the highest category, “Platinum”.
